I just got my new Alpine IDA-X100 car stereo. This stereo is awesome. I connected my iPod nano that I got from Buy.com for really cheap price and a usb thumb drive through the glove box. It works flawless. Save some money and installed it yourself. Replacing old stock stereo is easy. Check this out.
1. Gather all The Tools: Phillips Screw Driver, Panel Tools or you can use a Putty Knife. Wire Strippers, Electrical Tape.

2. Before you do anything else disconnect battery by removing the negative battery cable to avoid any electrical shorts and explosions!
2. Gather all the stereo parts.

These are all cords that came with the stereo. Including the ipod adapter. I ordered a separate ipod adapter or connector because the one that came with the stereo is too short, it’s only 6 inches long. If you want to hook up your ipod in in the globe box I recommend getting a longer iPod Adapter.
3. Remove out old stereo.
Using your panel tool or a putty knife pry out the console trim panel. Then the trim panel straight out and disconnect the old stereo.

console trim panel removed pull it straight out.
3. Connect all the wiring together.
One set of wires were already stripped. You only need to stripped the other sets of wires. Using your wire stripper strip about half an inch of wires and connect it together. Connect yellow to the yellow wires and green to the green wires and so on.
5. Insert the New Stereo into place and connect cables in the back.

5. Rock On! Brand new Alpine stereo installed.
Alpine IDA X100 installed ! This stereo is awesome. It has no CD Player but who needs a cd player these day. When I buy a CD I just ripped it to my iPod . I keep the CD as a backup and carry my Ipod. I like to driving and not having to change a single CD. It’s all in the iPod nano.
.
I hooked up the iPod in the glove box. It works perfectly there I don’t have to …
see any wires sticking out of the dashboard. You can put it anywhere but I like mine in the glove box. For more information on installing other model of car stereo please feel free to comment below or just sent us an email and will be happy to answer your questions. Enjoy your new system.
